■Comprehensive Disaster Prevention Project
In Japan, safety measures in constructing infrastructures toward safe regional societies have been developed due to sudden catastrophic disasters that occur frequently and the impending crisis of large-scale earthquakes. In order to promote these measures, improvement of integrated regional disaster prevention by industry-government-academia cooperation is essential.We support diverse disaster prevention measures as software from "disaster prevention" perspective between disasters and life.
 

■Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
Business Continuity Planning (BCP) is planned in order to decide on the necessary procedures for regular activities and business continuity in case of various risks including disasters and accidents. The aims of the BCP are to minimize the damage of business properties, continue core business, and prompt recovery from disasters/accidents.
Business continuity is an important strategic issue at a managerial level arising from concerns over client leakage, decline in the market share, erosion of trust and decrease in valuation. Therefore, BCP appropriate for various types of companies are required.
 

  ■Marine Survey
Surveys for water depths and bathymetric features are essential for the improvement of sea routes and ports. These can be measured 3 dimensionally in real time by making the best use of GPS instruments and digital depth finders.

■Surveys on Bathymetric Features and Riverbed Topographies
Situations at the sea bottoms and riverbeds can be represented as real-time images by using the side scan sonar. The side scan sonar is most appropriate for real-time extensive surveys such as urgent investigations of disaster prevention for harbor facilities, mapping of massively growing seaweed beds in the water (green circles shown in the right figure) and distribution surveys of surface sediments.
The body of the side scan sonar is small, compact and easy carrying. The results can be analyzed with various combined data on GPS.
 

■Calculations on Topographical Changes in Sea Bottoms
Problems of port sedimentation and coastal erosion are quite important in making proposals on conservation and planning of the coasts and harbors.
We are making proposals and reviewing countermeasures for construction through detailed predictive calculations on profiles of waves, shore currents and topographical changes by using the quasi 3 dimensional seashore modification model.

 

■Bridge Inspections
We provide coherent bridge inspection services from field surveys, facility inspections, report compilation to detailed survey proposals.
***Regarding the facility inspections, we are making arrangements of bridge inspection vehicles/high-place working vehicles, operating these vehicles, drawing traffic regulation mapsand applying for all necessary permissions.

For maintenance and management of harbor facilities composed of various materials including steel concrete and complex structures, we provide visual inspection for corrosion, deterioration, damage and bar arrangements through combining appropriate methods. We also provide soundness evaluation services necessary for designing.

Since the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake, seismic capacity evaluation has been conducted on many buildings and the evaluation has been utilized for earthquake strengthening.

■Urgent Investigations Related to Landslides
Landslide and mudflow disasters are caused by torrential rains and earthquakes in many parts of Japan.In order to deal with such disasters, we conduct urgent investigation in devastated areas and make urgent or sabo plans considering disaster characteristics or condition of sabo facilities.
 

■Forest Resources Monitoring
In the field of erosion and sediment controls, we determine the conditions of sedimentation through combining the surveys on streams/hillsides and respective tree measurements, and make disaster prevention and erosion control plans considering water-holding capabilities and forest resources of the areas.
